Building a Global Youth Movement

June 11th- July 20th

This Summer Enrichment Program is designed to help youth change their view on life and getting them to a point of taking ownership of their decisions and become motivated for greatness. This plan supports goal-setting, self-discipline, responsibility and skill development that improve the youth’s sense of hopefulness. The purpose of this program is to empower youth to begin making healthy choices that will get them on the right track to success.

The goal of Empowered U Summer Enrichment program:

  • Increase family relationship

  • Focuses on teaching youth to build positive attitudes, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that will guide future behavior 

  • Increase leadership skills

  • Increase academic success 

Curriculum Topics Examples:

 

  • Time line for after high school/college (for college students) – in 5, 10, 15 years

  • Realistic and attainable goals

  • Financial independence – personal credit cards, budgeting, ATMs, setting up a bank account

  • Time management

  • Organization (i.e., does the youth have a calendar or agenda?)

  • Communication skills

  • Workplace-readiness skills

  • Employability indicators – attendance, punctuality, appearance, initiative, maturity, courtesy, attitude, quantity of work, quality of work, flexibility and cooperation

  • Job opportunities – job shadowing, internships, apprenticeships

  • Career interest inventory

  • Job exploration/applications

  • Applications for financial aid, scholarships and awards

  • Creating a resume

  • Practice interviewing skills

  • Exercise and eating right

  • Personal mission statement

  • Being well-rounded (i.e., involvement in school clubs, community activities)

  • Visiting a local college

  • Design a business card and marketing self

  • Risky behaviors and their associated consequences (alcohol, drugs, sex, cigarette smoking, gang activity, peer pressure)

Summer Enrichment:

​

June 11th - July 20th

8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Ages: 5 and up

​

Fees: The cost of this 5 week camp is $250 per child (lunch and snack included).

 

There is a 10% discount for two or more children within the same family. 

 

A $15.00 non-refundable application fee must be to assure your child a place in the program.  (If all slots are full, your payment will be refunded.) 

The $15.00 application fee will be deducted from the total cost of the program.

  • Group Rate: Register five or more children and receive a 15% discount

  • Early Bird Special: Pay entire tuition by March 30th, 2018, and receive a 10% discount
